MADHOUSE will produce 22 episodes set during Seasons 1 and 2, and due for release in January 2011. It will be a combination of canon and stories written specifically for the anime series.
I kind of love the entire concept, and I'm heartened by the fact that directors Miya Shigeyuki and Ishizuka Atsuko come across as total fanboys in a recent interview on the anime site. Best of all, they really seem to "get" what the show is all about.
What are the highlights the Directors would impress upon?
Miya: "That's a difficult one. Like the original series that has everything, please enjoy the world of Supernatural. We're going to have fun with it too (laughs)"
Ishizuka: "Whatever the case, the characters are the lifeblood! Please enjoy watching Sam and Dean!"I want to embroider that last bit on a pillow. The translated text can be found here, courtesy of focaccina.
