For the night is dark and full of maraschinos
Red silk, red eyes, the ruby red at her throat, red lips curled in a faint smile.
Many called her beautiful. She was not beautiful. She was red, and terrible, and red.GRRM is very specific about the Red Priestess Melisandre's physical appearance. And even though I know actresses with glowing red eyes don't exist, and CGI would probably just end up looking cheesy, it still bugs me.
Melisandre should have red eyes. Amirite?

Also, Tubular friend The TV Watcher commented:
I feel like maybe you should have gotten Jim Caviezel to play your demon lamb cake because that was pretty much like going through the Stations of the Cross. That's Hobo Demon Lamb to you.

Hey, what's today date? 9-02-10 ... OMG it's #90210!
I am indebted to @TinaCharlesTV for pointing this fact out to me. Who can forget the very special episodes, the drama, the tantrums, the unfortunate fashion, the hair?
Ahh, memories ...
NUH NUH NUH NUH, NUH NUH NUH-NUH
*punch punch*
Looking back, Brenda was kind of awesome. TEAM BRENDA!
DONNA MARTIN GRADUATES!
You guys, you're upsetting the puppy!
And the number one, all time greatest 90210 moment ... Kelly's choice

Dammit, I only have so many kidneys!
And I was saving them up to bid on a Metallicar when Supernatural wraps production.
But if you've got some spare organs or disposable income sitting around, you might consider placing a bid on one of these fabulous LOST props when they go up for auction August 21 and 22.
You can preview the items here, and begin making those tough calls - such as do you pay your rent for the next three months, or do you try and win Sawyer's copy of Watership Down?
It will look great on your bookshelf, but remember ... you can't live in a book.
There are two players. One side is light, and one side is dark.

Happy Picard Day - Engage!
I've never been a huge Trek fan, but I think we can all agree on the general awesomeness that is Patrick Stewart and John-Luc Picard.
Celebrate accordingly - it's for the children.
via Captain Picard Day with a tip o'the hat to Daddy Likey. Thanks Winona!

Captain Picard Day is celebrated on June 16th because it is the equivalent date to Stardate 47457.1, mentioned in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode entitled The Pegasus. In that episode, Captain Picard Day is an occasion for the Enterprise to host schoolchildren and show them what Starfleet is like.
Celebrate accordingly - it's for the children.

Schrodinger's #LOST: The final chat
So, whatdya think of the finale? The last 10 minutes felt a little Battlestar to me, but overall I was very satisfied, because it was all about the characters' journeys. That's always been the heart of the show. The mysteries and the time travel and the polar bears - those were just devices to tell an amazing, complex, emotional story about connection and community.
Come celebrate all of those things in the very last LOST chat over at Tubular. 1:00 pm Eastern time. So much of the fun of LOST has been discussing and rehashing and obsessing, and I've done most of that with my fellow commenters at Tubular. I'm going to miss my community like crazy, but I'll meet you all later at the church.
There are lots of ways LOST could have ended. Would anyone have been any happier if Darlton had taken my brother's suggestions?

- Lost finale prediction...Sawyer flies away on a helicopter and sees jack has spelled "goodbye" in rocks on the ground.
- Lost finale prediction #2: Patrick Duffy walks out of the light tunnel wearing a towel and drying his hair.
- I think it's pretty obvious that Jack is going to win the million bucks at the end. No way any of the other survivors would vote for Locke. He's a dick.
- Lost finale prediction #3: Desmond wakes up and Suzanne Pleshette is next to him in the pool.
- Lost finale prediction #4: Locke makes it to the boat but runs it aground on the no brains atoll.
- Lost finale prediction #5: Sawyer and Juliet make out in the Ewok village while badly CGI-ed ghosts of Jack, Locke and Yoda look on approvingly.

#LOST: This is the end, beautiful friend, "The End"
This time tomorrow - barring any electromagnetic events - I will be happily ensconced in the warm embrace of my LOST fandom.
In Houston.
I don't live in Houston. I don't live anywhere remotely near Houston. "But wax|wendy", you're no doubt thinking, "that's a really long way to go for a TV show, even one as awesome as LOST." You're not wrong, but that's where my peeps are. And they are worth the trip.
Or as our faithful leader T put it:

Is it silly to have cared this much about a television show? Probably. But it was never just about the show, as special as it was. It was about finding a group of like-minded people with whom it was a joy to share this experience that was Lost. We're not just losing a remarkable television show, we're losing a community. A nation-wide, internet-based community of fans who have become friends, bonded by this program.I'll see you on the other side.

That's a damn fine cup of coffee. Damn fine.
20 years? TWENTY YEARS???
*sigh*
It's hard to believe, but April 8 was the 20th anniversary of the debut of Twin Peaks. I was in college at the time, and clearly couldn't be seen hanging out in the TV room when I could be out doing college type stuff, so I had my mom tape it for me. This meant when I came home at breaks, I would have 5 or 6 hours of show that I would watch all at one go.
It was kind of like having your brain removed, danced on by a midget, and then replaced with pie.
I wonder if Josie is still trapped in the night stand?

Artfully #LOST
When it isn't sparking debate, obsession and teeth gnashing, LOST is inspiring creativity.
Graphic designer Jared Stumpenforst has set himself the task of designing one new LOST themed illustration per day for the next year. So far he's up to #44.
His work is inventive, playful, and elegant in its simplicity.
A limited number of prints are available and he's promising t-shirts to come.
His non-LOST work is also worth checking out at stumpyhorse.com.
The character pieces are especially strong. You can feel the tension in this portrait of Jack, captured in the moment just before the crying starts. Come on, it's Jack! You know the big salty man tears are imminent.

City Gonzales has a round up of 101 awesome LOST t-shirts. Not all of them are available for sale, and of course, the one I most want is currently only a concept design. I haz a sad.
via Tubular
ABC is releasing a series of character mash up videos, and they're starting with Ben. I'm sure this is what Michael Jackson had in mind when he wrote the song. via The Wrap with a tip o'the hat to Karen.
